A new variety of poker is now available in the Titan Poker software. Players can sit down at tables offering 7 Card Stud Hi/Lo, a version of 7 Card Stud when the pot is split between the highest hand and the lowest hand.
A number of 8-player tables are available for 7 Card Stud Hi/Lo Limit players, with stakes ranging from $0.10/$0.20 to $0.50/$1. The tables can easily be located by clicking through World Tables to Stud.
In 7 Card Stud Hi/Lo, half the pot is awarded to the best high hand and half the pot is awarded to the best low hand. To qualify as a low hand, one must have five unpaired cards eight or lower. As a lower card is better in this case, 7 Card Stud Hi/Lo is frequently known as “Eight-or-better high-low stud.”
Straights and flushes are not considered, so the best possible low hand would be: A 2 3 4 5, also known as the ‘wheel’. A ‘wheel’ would also be considered a straight and could also possibly win as the best high hand.
If there is no qualified low hand, the entire pot goes to the player who has formed the best high hand.
There are a number of different poker varieties available to players in the Titan Poker software. In addition to the Hold’em and Omaha tables, there are tables that offer 5 Card Stud, 7 Card Stud, and Razz.
