Gloria Balding Talks to Titan Poker

Posted by Bradley, August 9, 2011

Gloria BaldingGloria Balding has been in the poker media industry for six years, first with Bluff Magazine and then later with Poker News. She has been to the World Series of Poker every year since 2006, has played some live tournaments herself but prefers live cash games.

This week, Gloria has been in Cyprus with the Merit Cyprus Classic 2011 poker festival. (Team Titan’s Marvin Rettenmaier has made his way to the final table of the Main Event there). As Gloria traveled to Cyprus we grabbed the microphone and put her on the spot with twenty questions, ranging from her thoughts about Las Vegas, her favorite poker locale, and the highlights of her poker media career.

An exclusive interview with Gloria Balding has been posted on the Titan Poker Blog in two parts. Gloria tells us of her nervousness interviewing Phil Ivey, how she enjoys watching the progress of Tom Dwan, and her thrill at filming a parody of a Full Tilt advertisement.

Don’t remind Gloria of Barcelona, though, because she was mugged there one year. She has traveled across the United States and Europe and all the way to Macau in her coverage of the most exciting poker tournaments.

“I’m dying to go to Cuba, India and Mongolia. I have yet to hear of tournaments in any of those locales, but if they ever happen then call me. My bags will be packed in 5 minutes,” Gloria told us.
