iPOPS Live Barcelona Is Huge Success

iPOPS Live BarcelonaA weekend of exciting poker action concluded in Barcelona last night when Romanian player Dany Parlafes won the iPOPS (iPoker Online Poker Series) Live Main Event for a first place prize of €22,000. The day before, American Jesse Rockowitz won the live continuation of iPOPS #5 $500,000 Guaranteed for a first place prize of $100,000.

iPOPS Live Barcelona was deemed a huge success; players complimented the hotel, the food, the Barcelona setting, and the poker action.

iPOPS Live Main Event

A total of 179 players paid the €770 buy-in to participate in the iPOPS Live Main Event, staged at the Gran Casino de Barcelona. Titan Poker sent a delegation of 17 players, but only 4 of them managed to survive Day 1 of the tournament.

Romanian player Dany Parlafes, who occasionally plays on Titan Poker but this time bought in directly to the Barcelona event, was the overall tournament winner.

Titan Poker’s Leon Piso (the Netherlands) finished in the money for a €1,700 prize. Polish player Maciej Winkler finished in 21st place for a €1,450 prize. German player Steffen Carl finished in 12th place for a €2,300 prize.

iPOPS #5 $500,000 Guaranteed

The final 27 players of iPOPS #5 $500,000 Guaranteed, which began play online on May 6th, gathered in Barcelona for the live conclusion of the event. Titan Poker’s ““vinex7” from Russia was unable to attend and he was blinded out of the action, still entitling him to a $2,700 prize.

British qualifier Brendan Grimwood finished in 8th place for a $9,200 prize.

Titan Poker’s third finalist, Swedish player Gustav Nordh, finished in 5th place in the tournament for a $22,000 prize. Click to see a video interview with Gustav Nordh.

The tournament was won by American player Jesse Rockowitz, who has a WSOP bracelet to his credit from the 2010 World Series of Poker.
