Marvin Rettenmaier and Sam TrickettTeam Titan’s players continued their series tournament action in Las Vegas with Marvin Rettenmaier scoring his second cash and Sam Trickett advancing into a position to cash out for his second time as well.

Marvin Rettenmaier went into Day 2 of Event #36 $2,500 No-Limit Hold’em as the tournament chipleader but immediately went on a roller coaster ride. He busted out on the last hand of the night, finishing in what appears to be 40th place for a prize of $12,860.

In what he described as “super tilt,” Marvin was holding kings against his opponent’s AK, and the ace on the river knocked him out.

Yesterday, Marvin had an amazing hand which gave him the tournament lead. He had pocket fours against the small blind’s AJ and the big blind’s deuces. The flop brought 2 4 7. The small blind had four spades. Marvin’s set was still the best hand, but he needed to dodge the last deuce and nine spades to win the pot. The turn and the river brought red cards, and Marvin knocked out 2 players.

Marvin finished the day with a stack of 165,000 chips. 308 players remained in the event out of a starting field of 1,734. Payouts are being made to the top 171, with $749,610 reserved for the winner.

Meanwhile, Sam Trickett advanced to Day 2 of Event #38: $1,500 No-Limit Hold’em. Sam has 45,300 in chips and is ranked in 9th place among the 320 players who survived out of the 2,192 players that started the day. 216 players will make the money, with $540,136 and the coveted bracelet reserved for first place.

Sam rose into the top ten players when he went all-in holding pocket nines against the sevens of his opponent. The flop produced a third nine, and the seven on the river couldn’t help his opponent at all. Sam went up to 41,000 chips after the hand.

Event #38 is being led by Jon Spinks (133,600); Gabriel Aleria (122,800); and David Rounick (92,000), with defending Main Event champion Jonathan Duhamel short-stacked (13,500). Tournament action continues tomorrow.
