Marvin RettenmaierWe are excited to see that Team Titan’s Marvin Rettenmaier from Germany is ranked in first place on BLUFF Magazine's 2011 Poker Player of the Year (POY) leaderboard.

Team Titan’s Sam Trickett is currently in 12th place in the rankings, but there’s plenty of poker action ahead. In 2010, Team Titan captain Sorel Mizzi was the recipient of the Bluff Magazine award so it is possible that Team Titan players will win it two years in a row.

Bluff Magazine’s Poker Player of the Year award is considered one of the most prestigious in the poker world. The award is given annually to the poker player who records the best overall year based on a points system unique to BLUFF. Points are awarded based on overall finish, field size and tournament buy-in.

In February, Marvin won the France Poker Series Grand Final, capturing the €244,036 first prize. The six-day, €1800 + €200 Main Event attracted 567 starters, with some of the best players on the French poker circuit. Marvin was the only foreigner at the Final Table.

Marvin has a total of $464,545 in tournament winnings this year, including cashes at the WPT Venice, EPT Deauville, and the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure.
