Posted by Bradley, June 9, 2011

Sam TrickettIn his first cash out of the series, Team Titan’s Sam Trickett finished in 16th place in Event #12 $1,500 Triple Chance No-Limit Hold’em for a prize of $12,952.

A "Triple Chance" tournament is one in which each player starts with 1,500 chips and has two "rebuy lammers" that are worth 1,500 chips each. Players can decide when to use these “rebuy lammers” or they will be traded in automatically at the end of the fourth level of play.

A total of 1,340 players entered Event #12, creating a prizepool of $1,809,000. First prize will be awarded $352,808 and the coveted bracelet.

Sam has played in a number of tournaments but this was his first cash of the series. On his blog, Sam posted how he was knocked out of the $5,000 No Limit Hold’em (the same event in which he finished in second place last year) and out of the $1,000 No Limit Hold’em, where he was eliminated by Jerry Yang.

At the end of Day 2 of the $1,500 Triple Chance No-Limit Hold’em ten players remain in the action led by Nicholas Rampone who has a commanding chip lead.

Sam resumes play tomorrow. “Next tourney is $1,500 Pot Limit,” he posted.
