Titan from Portugal Wins Monthly VIP $5,000

Every month, Titan Poker’s top VIP players (VIP Copper and up) compete against each other in the Monthly VIP $5,000 freeroll, the biggest regularly held benefit tournament on the Titan Poker tournament schedule. Last night was no different, when 1,616 players took their virtual seats to compete for a share of the $5,000 in cash prizes.

When the action reached the final table stage, “MuInBulSung” from Ireland was the chipleader, but the Irish player was unable to keep his lead until the tournament’s conclusion.

Going into heads-up play, “MuInBulSung” was ahead of “zetitanpt” from Portugal, and the Irish player was able to maintain the lead for just a few hands. Everything changed on a hand when “MuInBulSung” thought his pocket aces would be sufficient to eliminate “zetitanpt”. But the player from Portugal, whose pocket cards were K 6, saw both a king and a six on the flop, and his two pairs gave him the tournament lead.

On the last hand of the tournament, “zetitanpt” bet on a flop that gave him a pair of jacks, and “MuInBulSung” raised with four spades. “zetitanpt” re-raised and the Irish player was forced all-in. The pair of jacks held and “zetitanpt” won the hand and the tournament.

For his first place finish, “zetitanpt” received $830, while second place was worth $612 to “MuInBulSung”.

The Monthly $5,000 VIP freeroll tournament takes place on the third Wednesday every month. Participation in the event is one of the many benefits extended to the members of Club Titan, the world’s most rewarding online poker VIP program.
