Posted by Steven, August 17, 2011

Super Tuesday tournamentTitan Poker players have won the $30,000 GP Super Tuesday three weeks in a row. On July 26th, “binbetak” from Germany won $9,963 in the event. “D1sAstRWeeeeE” from Luxembourg took down the tournament for an $11,043 payout on August 2. Last night it was the turn of Russian player “Sguirre1”, who was one of 167 starters in the event.

The tournament lasted more than eight hours and with the re-buys and add-ons, carried a total prize pool of $44,000. When the final table came, “Sguirre1” demonstrated his skills by knocking out one opponent after another.

The Russian player’s pocket aces were enough to eliminate "juaoMathias" in sixth place. He then kicked out "yourneverknow" in fifth place when an ace on the turn gave him a pair to defeat pocket nines.

A short while later he knocked out "TryClaimMe" in 4th place with ace high. Two hands later he knocked out "Dejay86", again managing the elimination with ace high when his king kicker beat his opponent's jack.

It only took three hands of heads-up play to finalize the victory. In the final deal, he eliminated "GrindFromBehind" with a set of threes.

First place awarded “Sguirre1” with $11,880.
