Damian Ciomperlik got turned onto playing online poker by chance in 2006 and has steadily improved his poker game since. He believes discipline and bankroll management are the most important things in poker and he dreams of someday playing at the WSOP Main Event.

Well done! You're officially the best Titan Poker tournament player in your country! How do you feel?

I feel great. I was hoping to be among the top three players, but I never expected this.

What do you like to do when your not playing poker?

I used to spend a lot of my time studying, but had to stop recently. I like to spend time with my friends, going out and having fun, and sleeping.

What's your educational background?

I have completed a non-university higher education program.

How long have you been playing poker and how did you get started?

My first poker experiences were just for fun when I got together with my friends. I started to play online by chance in 2006. I happened to see a commercial for a Poker site and thought I would give it a try. After that, I started to search the internet for the best places to play poker and saw that Titan Poker often had the top ranking. I also checked out a few other poker rooms, but in the end I came back to Titan Poker because I really enjoy playing in the tournaments on the site.

What's your biggest win so far either live or online?

The Titan Team Final has been my greatest success so far. Before this, I had won a few smaller tournaments.

What's your poker philosophy?

Learn from your mistakes and never repeat them. This is the only way to become a very successful player.

What's your life philosophy?

Treat other people like you want to be treated. To be respectful of other people is important, but at the same time careful not to be too nice.

How would you describe yourself?

This is not easy for me to answer. I would say that I am cute, a very social person, and calm. I feel settled in my life at this time.

What's your favourite music/movie?

Pirates of the Caribbean.

Which poker player do you aspire to be most like and why?

Despite the fact I do not like his attitude, I would say Phil Hellmuth. His poker play is excellent.

Do you prefer online or live tournaments and why?

This is another question that is difficult for me to answer. There are advantages to both online and live poker games. Online I am able to play more tournaments at the same time and at least be successful in one of them. The live tournaments allow me to be more focused because I am playing at only one table. If I had to choose, I would prefer to play online tournaments because there is a greater chance to be successful.

Any key moments you remember from the Titan Team Country Final Tournament?

What I remember most were the winning 'coinflips' and my KK hand against two lower pairs. There were also a few difficult folds.

Which tournament/country is first on your list as a new Titan Team member and why?

I believe every poker player is dreaming of participating at the WSOP Main Event. I hope next year this will be possible, or the year after.

What do you plan to do with the prize money from each tournament if you win?

I will give some of the winnings to my parents for all the help they have given me and use what is left to increase my bankroll so I can play in higher limit games.

Any advice to other players hoping to be a part of the Titan Team?

Discipline and bankroll management are the most important things in poker. When I first started playing, I lost a lot because I did not relize the importance of this. After working on it, I have now won the money back that I had lost. Keep trying to learn all you can about the game and good bankroll management will lead to success.
