EPT tour of Deauville 2009 Blog
Day 1
There was one huge hand that I remember most from the first day and it went something like this:
AK’s spade serve as the big Blind, raised UTG three times, called by the Button. I over raised nine times. Called by two other players by the Flop 9t(spade)J, I checked, UTG bet the third of the Pot. All-In from the Button, after a lot of thought I fold. UTG with two Queens-Button-two Jacks, by the Turn the Queen, also,, I had the ability to kick out two players but the risk was very high regarding my current situation in the tournament.

Jerome Bessout is all business at the table.
Day 2
I remember when I received an amazing pocket QQ at the button sometime around the fifth or sixth level of play. UTG raise 3 All-In from the button. I had no choice but to pay, paid also by UTG: JJ. UTG button 99 and I tripled my stack, which goes from an average of 120,000 to 74,000. There are now 87 players still left in the game.
Day 3
When I was playing during level 3 and 4 I had a hand of pocket Kings. I raised and everybody folds. Nothing good again before I received a King and a Jack in the middle of a Check. Devil Fish was Big Blind and he didn’t stop saying that he would never fold his Big Blind. I looked at him in the eye and told him, “Are you sure you will never fold your Big Blind?” I raised the blind four times and then after a big hesitation, I showed him an A’s and ended up bluffing Devil Fish.
Level 5
The end of the day is fast approaching and I need to make a move. Patience is the magic word. I received a pair of two by the button, everybody folds and I now had the chance to raise again and I did. I put 40,000 more into the Pot. There was an Italian player who will get out at the fourth place and who plays by a range of hands much larger than mine, goes All-In. After looking at my stack of 35,000 and after having called and displayed my pair of 2, he showed AS,9s. No AS showed up on the flop but he got out by the turn and I jumped out of the tournament. It has been really hard for me to leave because the only hand which I took the biggest risk was the last one.

Jerome did an amazing job and was rather unlucky not to have won the whole tournament. He finished 19th and walked away with 15,500 euros.
Titan Poker congratulates you on an excellent performance and thanks you for a great tournament. See you at the next one!
