2007 European Poker Tour in Prague

Titan Poker Players at the 2007 European Poker Tour in Prague

December 12, 2007

Today our three German players, Frank, Patrik, and Maik are competing in the second day of the EPT Prague tournament. Frank finished Monday's tournament with 24,800 chips! He has been playing poker for eight years now and loves to play at Titan Poker. Unfortunately, at the beginning of the second day of the tournament, he made a strategic error and lost his chips. In spite of everything, he has taken his defeat well and now has the best memories of playing at EPT Prague. Without a doubt, Frank will continue to play his passion and hopes to win his way into another major event.

Maik and Patrik

Things were looking good for both Patrik and Maik (above, left) as they advanced to the table with only 81 players. Only 56 players will win a share of the prize. However, Patrik finished at the 62nd spot, just missing out on the cash. Maik went on to take the 46th spot and won 7,600 Euros!! He also represented Titan Poker at Pokerface 2007 in Las Vegas in May, where he finished first place and won a $200,000 professional poker player package, complete with a monthly salary. His game has improved so much he can now play as a full-time job!

After today's tournament, we organized a relaxing evening in the old city. The event not only allowed our players to show-off their poker skills, but also rewarded them with a beautiful Prague Christmas atmosphere, complete with strolls through the city's alleyways, and, of course, some great food and beverages (see below)!

EPT Prague Players

Everyone had a magnificent time at EPT Prague. For all of the players, it was only the beginning and are as motivated as ever to win a seat to the next big poker event with Titan Poker!!

The second group of players, Patrik Schulz and Thierry Barou, are a little tense today but even more excited to start playing.

Thierry, playing on Titan Poker for only two years, has become an amazing player. He came in First Place and won $80,000 in the $500,000 RAF event (Refer a Friend) and, coming in Third Place, won $75,000 at the Tournament Titan just days ago. For his first live event (having only played online before), he started today with 10,000 chips and within two hours he was up to 11,000. Four hours later, unfortunately, Thierry was out of the tournament. He felt it was a good learning experience and will continue to improve his game.

Patrik was focused for the entire competition. Hand after hand, his chip count continued to increase. By the first break, he had 23,000 chips and later left the tournament with 37,900! Having won past competitions, he plans to continue his focus to become a star player.

Tomorrow will see German players Patrik Schulz (pictured below, center), Maik Daehling, and Frank Stumpf, continue to day two of the tournament.

Our first group of Titan Poker players, Jelte Kruijer , Maik Daehling, Guido Meacci and Frank Stumpf take their seats for the start of Tournament 1A - the first day of the EPT Prague

By the first break, all players are still in the game but the tension is rising. After a few hours, Guido Meacci leaves the competition. But Guido, who has been been playing poker for 25 years, isn't discouraged and will keep playing at our online tournaments until he wins a seat to the next EPT event!

Towards the end of the day, Jelte (pictured above) also leaves the tournament. However, Jelte is not one to waste time - and within minutes he is already playing on the cash tables!!

EPT story Maik

By the end of the day, two of our players are still in the game. Maik Daehling (pictured above) finishes strongly with 61,000 chips. Frank Stumf also finishes comfortably with 24,800 chips.

Our second group of players, Patrik Schulz, Thierry Barou and Sanjay Haran will start Tournament 1B on the 11th of December. Log on again tomorrow to find out how they did!

Christmas Market

December 9, 2007

Seven skilled poker players arrive in the Czech Republic to represent Titan Poker at the EPT Prague, which will be staged from the 10th to the 14th of December.

One night before the action starts, anticipation is high amongst Titan Poker's participating players - who have come from France, The Netherlands, Germany and Italy. Many players spend their first evening enjoying the magical Christmas atmosphere of this ancient and beautiful city - or taking the opportunity to play in even more of Titan Poker's exciting online tournaments.

Skilled Dutch player Jelte Kruijer, who has already won seats at the World Series of Poker, WPS Costa Rica and $40,763 in cash at Titan Poker's online tournaments, offers some words of advice for his fellow competitors on the eve of this huge event:

'Try to be patient, it takes time to become a good poker player. Good luck to everyone!'

EPT Prague

The EPT Prague is expected to prove a resounding success, and Titan Poker wishes the very best to all its players!
